Choosing fittings

Knobs or handles?
Very simply, there are two types of fittings, knobs and handles. Both are brilliant options, they work everywhere and the most important thing is that you yourself think the fitting is nice and comfortable to hold.
Choosing between handles and knobs for your kitchen and wardrobe doors depends on several factors such as functionality, aesthetics, and personal preference. Here's a guide to help you make an informed decision.
Advantages of handles:
- Ergonomics: Handles are often easier to grip and pull, which can be beneficial when you have large or heavy doors such as a refrigerator or a dishwasher.
- Variation in Design: Handles come in many different shapes and sizes, which can give your kitchen or wardrobes a unique look.
- Functionality: Handles can be more practical for frequently used cabinets and drawers as they offer a larger grip area.
Advantages of knobs:
- Cost effective: Knobs are usually cheaper than handles.
- Easier to Install: Because they only require one hole, they are easier to mount.
- Aesthetics: Knobs can give a clean and classic look that fits well in traditional or minimalist kitchens.
When to choose a handle:
- For large cupboards and heavy drawers where a greater grip is needed.
- If you want your fittings to be visible and be a bit of an interior detail, handles are the right choice.
When to pick buds:
- For smaller cabinets and drawers, as handles can often be perceived as too large otherwise.
- If you prefer a traditional or simple design.
Design and style:
- Choose fittings that complement the overall style of the kitchen or room. A good tip is to look at your kitchen faucet or other fittings you have in the room. Use these as your starting point when choosing fittings. If the mixer is stainless steel, a stainless steel knob or handle often fits perfectly!
- It is very common to mix knobs and handles. If you do, make sure to choose products that match each other. On the product pages, you get help with suggestions that fit each handle. If you still feel unsure, don't hesitate to chat with us or email info@knokkbeslag.se
- Also keep in mind that different materials require different care. Fittings are available in different materials, with leather, brass and aluminum being the most common. In general, all materials fit everywhere. What you can think about, however, is to avoid leather fittings in very humid spaces such as bathrooms. Size and CC measurements of handles
When purchasing a handle, you will come across the term CC measurements. It means Center-to-Center and shows the measurements between the centers of the two screw holes. The fitting itself can be longer than the CC measurement. If you have previously bought a fitting with a certain CC measurement, it is super easy to refresh your home with new fittings, but then make sure to choose the same CC measurement for a smooth change! Most of our fittings are available in several different CC sizes.
The easiest way to measure CC dimensions if you already have a fitting in place is to open the cabinet or door and measure the distance between the screw heads. Trying to measure from the outside can sometimes be tricky depending on how the old fitting is designed.

When you want to change your fittings in your kitchen, it may be worth considering that the fittings are sometimes of different sizes. Check and count!
We understand that it can still feel a little tricky. If you have questions, do not hesitate to contact us in the chat or email info@knokkbeslag.se and we will be more than happy to help you!
